A typical banner advertisement
If you decide to start banner advertising then the picture below is what
will appear on your pages (minus the red text and lines that I drew in !!),
as you'll see when you agree to display other
peoples adverts on your pages, you're also agreeing to do quite a lot
of advertising for the banner company as well.
Above is a typical advert that you will see on web pages, maybe on your own.
There are 3 sections to the advert, the first is the "end" of the advert,
this is the blue section at the left hand end in the above example.
This is added-on to the original advert by the banner company.
If you click on the "end" of the banner
then you would be taken to the banner companies home page, thus the end
serves as an advert for the banner company.
The text underneath the banner also serves as a second advert for the banner
company, again, clicking on this text would take you to the banner companies
home page, there's only one banner company that I know of that doesn't add
an "end" to the banner, or display text underneath.
Finally the main section is the actual advertisement itself, clicking on this
would take you to the appropriate page, in my example above a page somewhere
all about guitars. This main section is what you need to design for yourself
if you're going to start banner advertising.
